Genevieve Hawkins chairs the advisory board of The Next Group (parent of The Next Step and The Safe Step ) from May 2025, bringing strategic leadership in workplace mental health, organisational transformation, and risk management.

She founded her own health and safety business, directed the Australian division of an international HSE consulting firm, and led the insurance stream during Australia’s largest corporate demerger—showcasing her ability to navigate complex corporate change across sectors.

Genevieve is also a published author: Mentally at Work (2020), which helps organisations optimise health and performance through connection, and Shrinking Elephants (2024), which provides pragmatic approaches to resolving workplace conflict and unlocking value for everyone

As Chair, she joins founder Craig Mason , strategic advisor Julie Honoré , and CEO Aaron Neilson to guide The Next Group through the evolving landscape where HR and safety converge—ensuring organisational resilience, compliance, and enhanced value for clients and teams alike
